  1. I really don't know anything about gardening. I just wing it, like most things in life. LOL

So how long do these seeds keep if you don't plant them this year?

    Great contest btw. :-D

  2. Aww...fear of gardening! That is why I am offering a wild flower seed. Its self sowing in fact this type. Basically, you go out and loosen up some dirt with your fingers, gently pour some of these down, and lightly sprinkle the dirt back on top. Make sure they have regualer watering LIGHTLY everyday for a week or 10 days. Then break up watering to ever few days when they germinate (sprout). Then water weekly for the first season. After that they will pretty much take care of their own, needing some watering during drought periods. They are perennial, which means they will always come back. They also drop their seeds and spread themselves out to fill in your garden bed on their own. As for storage: they come in packets I've labeled for you, store them in a cool dry place in those storage packets they come in... should be viable (healthy enough to plant and get sprouts) for probably 3 years or more. You'll get the most sprouts and the strongest spouts to plant the first year.

  3. Oh that is good to know. I was hoping to keep them since we are renting our place right now. I don't want to plant something and then move away! We hope to buy in the next year, so they should be okay. :-)

Columbines are one of my favorite flowers. I use to doodle them constantly in high school.
